I’ve been part of this club since my freshman year of college. Since I grew up in a majority white school, it was always hard for me to fit in with my asian ways. So when I left for college, I tried to join as many asian clubs my first year to fit in with my crowd of people. I also kicked up my xanga here and there. I have to say after 5 years of being part of this club I can’t regret any of it. Its been tons of drama and work, but there was always fun and a lot of great friends out of this small club. I helped restore this club when my friend Andrew and his friend tried to revive this club from scratch.
I’m glad i’ve been part of it ever since, I was the most dedicated member my freshman year, and always the behind the scenes guy, then my junior year I became secretary of AASU.
Well I will be back in nyc on thursday I wish it wasn’t raining this week kind of sucks…
A shoot I did yesterday before it rained…
This girl molly found me through a bunch of UB people so she wanted some professional shots to use for her future career.

i was raised in a white dominant area too when i was young. when i transferred to san francisco state i tried to join asian clubs too… even without the clubs i made asian friends. it was a nice change of diversity and cool to see a different perspective. i dont talk to that club anymore though after the year i transferred. things changed and i drifted away from it. it was a great experience though and i did make a lot of friends from it who i still hang out with.
@sonychak - What is really interesting is that I grew up with white roomates, so I was always battling between the two groups of friends I did try blending them together but it was an 50 50 i still talk to some of them =P
I’m still pretty white washed but I still trying to learn and fit in
I love that picture of you and your girlfriend. haha
It’s good to understand your Asian roots, even as an ABC. Btw, I want those Yoshi slippers.
I started meeting asians in college too lol
that girl at the end is really pretty
@Roadlesstaken - are you an ABC?
niiiice, and I like your new layout for your blog!
Looks awesome. I’d enjoy watching that. Anyway, I wish I was a better dancer than singer…not that I’m good…I just got to sing a lot of Karaoke. LOL
$5 for a show? that’s cheap…you can’t even buy a subway sandwich with $5, not after tax.
@Yohkom - I agree
Looks like fun
same here, it wasn’t till college that i spent more time with asian friends.
it looks like a fun group.
That sounds like an amazing experience for only $5!!
Looks like you’re having loads of fun! Give Linda a hug for me!
RYC: …and I can’t wait to go back this summer!! Too bad I can’t meet up with you guys on the next Xanga meetup.
You guys make it look like sooo much fun!
