Update overdue Jan
More snow…
sigh it won’t ever stopAnyway for what you guys normally wanna see Photos =P
Only thing i’ve really been doing is a lot of partying, and meeting people. So far I’ve been talking to quite a few new people, nothing crazy but a lot of them are really interesting. Oddly enough i’ve been meeting people since I started xanga way back. Since xanga is pretty much dead, its pretty hard to meet people in ny that are really still active I know a few of them decided to quit or to move else where.
So I met this cute krn chinese girl, Her name is Yina, and the funny store behind this is I met her randomly from fb and she found my pictures and added me. So one day I was asking her ” hey do i know you from somewhere like tom or his parties” (tom is a promoters and a mutual friend that comes up) She tells me no, but would like to meet up and go to Hiro sometimes. I guess she found my clubbing pictures from Hiro. So I talked to her here and there before meeting up not knowing what I signed myself in for. I found out that when people talk in slang and short i’m so used to it and figure it out. I forgot that some people don’t know English or its not their first language. I found out she speaks chinese and korean, and she said I will speak to you in mandarin because she doesn’t like her english.
Now I speak mandarin and can listen, but i’m not the best. I just remember a lot of it when I was younger since at home now a days we hardly ever speak it. So meeting up with her wasn’t too bad I actually thought it was going to be real awkward, or one of us would just leave. It actually went pretty well, I was able to hold a conversation with my decent mandarin. I have to say they are so unpolished that i’m ashamed of even speaking it sometimes… Anyway so the night of St marks, was pretty good. Good food, good conversations and drinks. I was proud of myself =) I managed to do something I thought I couldn’t do.
So I recently pulsed ” being lost in translation is a good thing maybe” haha … not sure if its what she meant but directly or loosely but she did say she likes me so that made my day. Till next time will see what happens next.

Ah so that’s the girl. Think she can be a keeper?
@Roadlesstaken - who knows i might need a translator, or brush up my chinese depending how things go.
Mmmm…that food looks really good! I’m always jealous of polyglots.
what will happen next is up to you, so make it happen.
you two trying to hook up? i am going to call dibs on you before she can! dibs!
OOOOH. Shitt man. *fist bumps* u r good
haha good job dude. run through rosetta stone or watch some movies and you’ll be good
@sonychak - haha can you speak to her in chinese or korean =p
she’s really pretty!
Jeff you never call me to hang out anymore and I’m still semi active on here =p
@Yohkom - call me sorry i dont call you i dont call people in general i wing everything lately
Interlingual dating is tough… I’ve dated a few people in Korea who don’t speak any english at all, and it’s been… well, a challenge. You gotta keep working hard and ALWAYS be on alert for miscommunications, especially when you’re speaking a language that isn’t comfortable for you. Let that discomfort keep you constantly aware of possibilities for mistakes.
ah language barrier! Download some rosetta stone and get working if you want to chat =) But hey, actions speaks louder than words so…
Nice photos Jeff and brush up on the Mandarin bro. Chinese/Korean girls are WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
Your food pictures never fail to make my mouth water. *drool*
i love the snow, and the girl is adorable cute, and the food loooks delish
the second cake looks REALLY good!
I haven’t really met anyone randomly from Xanga. Back when Xanga was huge, I’ve started talking to a few friends of friends but that’s the closest to meeting people on here.
yay for food!
you should hang out with her more often, just for fun. if something comes of it, that’ll be great, but in the meantime, you’ll get to a crash course with brushing up your manderin?
@BaBiixJo - yea im not saying meeting everyone is really random after awhile you talk to them and get to know them better =P
Wow, you take lovely pictures! She’s really pretty, btw.
She’s pretty. Maybe your Mandarin will eventually improve by talking to her. (:
snow good. snow good at all.
time to get a Rosetta!
I HATE SNOW. THERE’S WAY TOO MUCH OF IT AND IT WON’T GO AWAY!!! Shoveling really stinks. I heard we’re going to get another big heaping of it on Tuesday. :(
Good luck with the girl. I hope things will go well between you and her (better than what’s going on with me and my current situation). :]
And also… I model… so I was very interested in your pictures. For the test shots you did with your friend – try to make the lighting a little less overexposed from the top so you won’t get the harsh bright spots and you’ll be able to see his face more. Harsh lighting is good when you’re creating dramatic effects (Photographers use this lighting on me in dark shoots). The lighting you have on your own shoot, however, is PERFECT. I love that. :D The intensity gives the photo a more mysterious feeling.
Anyway, take care… going back to bed… I’ve exhausted all the energy I’ve had and now I need to gain it all back, plus the energy I lost due to my lack of sleep over the past few weeks.
The girl is adorable and I hope everything works out for you. I do love pictures. lol. The last one was gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
@LitlKittyKat - the problem about these lights are they are too bright for indoors and the size of my house =P I have to like double diffuse them since they are on the lowest power haha…
http://www.flickr.com/lcrazyaznl I did some new ones a bit more controlled and gridded.
hope you rest well =)
