Some of you guys might know that I picked up shooting photos at night clubs as a weekend job, it is usually the same old, drunk people, sometimes some fights you can say.  Other than that I really only do it because my gf and her friends would go clubbing, and i’m not much of a clubbing kind of guy.  Rather than approaching girls to dance, I don’t mind approaching girls if they would like the picture to be taken. 

Unfortunately most of the photographers I see do this job, give me the creeper status or stigma.  So sometimes its pretty rough at some clubs when no one wants any pictures.  I guess it comes with the turf.  So far most of the clubs I’ve been to are pretty small, and the promoters take care of me so I don’t have any problem. 

Anyways on for the pictures, So this past weekend was World at Dance, I didn’t go to the event since its too taxing, but I did cover two of the after parties. 

Temptation at (Time Square Art center) and Memorial Sunday (at Amnesia)
Poreotix made an appearance at both and performed at Amnesia for everyone.

Gogo dancers were there got plenty of shots =P along with some of the swing dancers at Amnesia.

So Mark is back from Cali for the week and we met up for some dinner.

Things are still pretty slow with the nightclub job, and still cracking at jobs and searching around.

The weather has been pretty nice though, but I need start tidying up a bunch of things, website, portfolio make a facebook fan page… yea i told myself i’d never do it but it help get some gigs going.

We ventured off to NJ one night to hit up a Sonic’s Drivein.

I took my relatives visiting last week to brooklyn promenade, and took a long exposure.

for once i tacked on the 70-200 + 1.4 tc so I was able see the statue with cropping a little

Dessert truck is now located 6 clinton st, near chinatown and were giving away free bread pudding and sorbert =D

So things been pretty busy but as well as slow.  I haven’t been shooting my part time job at the night clubs, since things are a bit slow on the promoter side.  Not too bad to get a few weekend to breathe, but now i’m hoping thing pick up soon.  Gotta hit up more jobs apps and such.

I have family staying over this week, so it might be pretty busy at home, some more car trouble, transmission needs to be checked out next week.  Loud tapping noise as well as some weird power surges. 

Door lock failed so I can’t get in, passenger hid light is dead need to replace it.  What more can happen now err …

FIRE Project

so I had to end this project a bit early today atleast because my neighbors called the cops on me.  The officer was cool about it, but he said the call was ” some supcious asian kid lighting things on fire -_- haha…

Anyway this project i’m going end it short and maybe come back to it since i may need more help from some more flammable stuff…

wd-40 and white lithium grease didn’t work as well as good old lighter fluid haha… and some coals

my twig idea was a total fail, i tried it but it really couldn’t keep a nice flame

So I had to quit my other internship due to the level of unprofessionalism they lacked, and the hostile environment that was going from a day to day basis.

Thew new Photographer is Cameron krone, hes pretty cool so far, young guy, and hit it off well with a good start.

Weekly photo project?

So I was thinking of a photo project for you xangans.  Since I do shoot various kinds of fields, I’d figure i’d show off more than just my usual run in with friends, or food pictures.

Theme of the week __________

- Vote will start every sunday and people can submit new ideas through out the week on that one post.  by sunday the top choice will be the project I work on for the week.  If there are slow weeks with no ideas I will just recycle suggestions in the current weeks drawing.

I hope it to be fun and entertaining since I do enjoy showing off some of my work but I do like going out of my way to do some projects for friends why not for xangans too =P

So today I went to visit OCC (aka Orange County Choppers in Newburgh, NY)  Not sure if people follow the show American Choppers, but this place is pretty cool to check out, You have to becareful, sometimes you might end up going and there will be no bikes there, since they might have a show somewhere.

I have to say i’m not a big chopper fan, but I have to love the craftsmanship.  I’m quite a handy man when it comes to cars so I can appreciate all the time and commitment towards these bikes.
The placement of the bikes sort of pissed me off since, it was pain in the ass to get the exposure right on some…

Fun times in buffalo
Kind of sad that this short week flew by so fast.  I got a bunch of things done, as well as some paid gigs, with the random girl who wanted headshots, which did not turn into a total disaster with weather.
Spent some time with the gf linda =)

As well as my old boss hiring me for a all day shoot today at a Law firm, we had to photograph 25 attorneys, we only go thru 12, but they were 12 really good sessions between each one, whew i’m pooped glad I didn’t think i could drive home to nyc right after.

I actualy met up with Paulina or (http://getyourownsandwich.xanga.com/) she came down from toronto, to go shopping in buffalo, and met up with her for dinner at cheesecake factory =P,  Paulina was hyper and talkative as every haha, it was cool meet up with her, she can eat man… I was a sissy when it came to eating my meal …

I met up with a friend where we did some shooting, I helped him with a self portrait as well as he helped me.  He doesn’t believe that I carry a bit 25lb c stand to hold my octobox and boom.   The things I do for photo, well would it make sense if I had an assistant to do all my biding?  I think I rather do things myself since I’d get it right in the first place.

I’ve been part of this club since my freshman year of college.  Since I grew up in a majority white school, it was always hard for me to fit in with my asian ways.  So when I left for college, I tried to join as many asian clubs my first year to fit in with my crowd of people.  I also kicked up my xanga here and there.   I have to say after 5 years of being part of this club I can’t regret any of it.  Its been tons of drama and work, but there was always fun and a lot of great friends out of this small club.  I helped restore this club when my friend Andrew and his friend tried to revive this club from scratch.

I’m glad i’ve been part of it ever since,  I was the most dedicated member my freshman year, and always the behind the scenes guy, then my junior year I became secretary of AASU.

Well I will be back in nyc on thursday I wish it wasn’t raining this week kind of sucks…
